Terms of Use

The short version
- ClaimASlot is free to use for organizing sign-ups. No account needed. A few small ads pay for the upkeep.
- You're responsible for what you put on a sheet. Keep it legal, honest and respectful, and don't add sensitive information.
- Keep your organizer link secret: whoever has it can edit and delete your sheet.
- Sheets are deleted automatically after the event. Download anything you want to keep.
- We provide the service as it is and can't be responsible for your event itself.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to everyone who uses ClaimASlot at claimaslot.com (the "service"), a small independent project based in the Netherlands ("we", "us"). By creating a sheet or signing up on one, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it.
2. Who can use ClaimASlot
You must be at least 13 years old, or older if your country requires a higher age to use online services on your own (for example 16 in some EU countries). Younger people may use the service only with a parent's or guardian's involvement.
3. How the service works
- An organizer creates a sheet and receives a public link to share and a private organizer link to manage it.
- A participant signs up for a slot by entering a name, and can remove their own sign-up.
- Anyone with the public link can view the sheet, and, if the organizer allows it, the names of participants.
- The service is free. We pay for its upkeep with a small number of clearly marked, non-intrusive ads (no pop-ups, and never between you and your sheet).
4. Your links
We don't use accounts, so your private organizer link and personal sign-up links work like keys. Anyone who has them can make changes. Keep them secret and store them safely. We can't recover lost links, because we only store unreadable fingerprints of them.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you enter. You give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy and display that content only as needed to run the service for you and the people you share it with. This permission ends when the content is deleted.
You are responsible for your content, and you confirm that you have the right to post it.
6. Rules for using ClaimASlot
You may not use the service to:
- post or link to anything illegal, or promote illegal activities;
- scam, defraud or mislead people, including phishing, fake fundraisers, or collecting passwords, bank or card details;
- send spam or bulk unsolicited messages, or advertise;
- harass, threaten, bully or discriminate against anyone, or post hate speech;
- post sexual content, violent content, or any content that exploits or endangers children;
- post other people's personal data without a valid reason or their permission, or any sensitive data such as health information, ID numbers or financial details;
- infringe anyone's copyright, trademark or other rights;
- impersonate a person or organization;
- upload malicious code, probe or attack our systems, bypass security or rate limits, or overload the service (including by automated scraping or mass creation of sheets).
7. Reporting content and moderation
If you see content that is illegal or breaks these rules, please report it using the "Report this sheet" link on the sheet or our contact page. Tell us which sheet it is and why. We review reports diligently and objectively, and may remove content, close sheets or block abuse. Where the EU Digital Services Act applies, we will tell the affected person the reasons for our decision when we have a way to reach them, and you can ask us to review a decision by contacting us. We do not use automated systems to make moderation decisions.

8. Storage and deletion
Sheets are deleted automatically, as explained in our Privacy Policy. The service is not a backup or archive. Download a copy (the organizer page offers a spreadsheet download) of anything you need to keep.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep ClaimASlot available and secure, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change, suspend or stop the service, or parts of it. If we plan to shut down the service, we will try to give reasonable notice on the site.
10. Our responsibility
ClaimASlot only provides the tool. We're not involved in your event, and we're not responsible for whether people show up, what they bring, or what organizers and participants do.
The service is provided free of charge and "as is". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data or lost profits, and our total liability is limited to €100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using the service and delete your sheets or sign-ups at any time. We may remove content or block access if you break these terms or the law, or to protect other users.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in your local courts. Please contact us first so we can try to solve any problem informally.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will show a notice on the site. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
